AI is wide-ranging and is concerned with the capability of performing tasks that needs human intelligence. AI can also be referred to as machine learning and since recent times this pro-technology has retained a top spot on the IT industry.

AI in the coming years might be one of the biggest industrial revolutions of the present time but what’s daunting is that experts believe that AI could be the end of the human race because AI can go to an extent where it finishes the human race to tackle a problem.

Regardless of the threats, It has been a booming investment opportunity with Billions of dollars being invested in AI technology, machine learning with the fact in hand  that it has major threats to humanity itself.

It is ignorant that we are surrounded by AI & it has even become an internal part of our lives without even us realizing it.

For illustration:

E-commerce sites predict our likes, dislikes, and our choices to what we buy on the internet with the help of the integration of AI.

Speech recognition systems like Siri, Cortana, Alexa are also powered by AI.

AI has emerged suddenly due to three reasons:

-Capability to store data

-Compute

-Math

Significant advances in these fields have helped AI technology to emerge such rapidly because the algorithm of AI is derived from these three elements.

But even after such advances, we cannot consider it to be magic because it has its downsides but it is surely far from a useful nature.

How you can use Artificial Intelligence in cyber security community?

AI is revolutionizing cyber security by allowing the problems to be addressed at a much larger level than a human can.

AI is quite beneficial when it comes to securing and protecting the gigantic data or loopholes  a company might have but at the same time we cannot eliminate the need of a human time to time because AI cannot also be practical in every sphere.

How does Artificial Intelligence enhance cybersecurity?

What AI can perform certainly humans won’t be able to.

It can process a huge amount of data within nanoseconds to keep network security and breach free. It learns from human simulation and therefore acts like a vigilante by keeping track of a user’s routine activities. It can detect the oddness in a user’s activity and can act in milliseconds to mitigate the possible intrusion.

But what happens when the intrusion occurs on a human watch?

It can be of big trouble because a human cannot possibly detect error 24/7 but AI can perform that round the clock.

As per the reports it has become very necessary to use an AI-enabled approach because hackers are already using this technology to perform intrusions and cyber attacks.

According to a survey by Capgemini research institute:

– 75% of the surveyed executives say that AI allows their organization to respond more quickly to breaches.

– 69% of the organizations think AI is a necessary tool to respond to cyber-attacks.

– 75% of the firms say that using AI improves the accuracy and efficiency of cyber analysts.

The complexity of networks has been growing steadily and due to this it is beyond what human beings are capable of handling on their own.

AI can fill into your existing gaps but it takes expertise, training, planning, execution to ensure your systems are secure.

Drawbacks to Artificial intelligence:

Among other good things, there are also some considerable amount of disadvantages such as:

–      Implementation of AI is a challenge in itself.

–      More amount of resources required to function appropriately

–      More financial demands

AI is much more risky and vulnerable than we think :

The same technology can & is often used to launch cyberattacks by the cybercriminals with more accuracy than ever. Because the adaptability to these tools is not a very difficult job to do. The conclusion is the attacks are more complex.

All of this creates a possibility of AI getting exploited, without the requisite protections and defense mechanisms in place, the application for cybercriminals could be limitless.

Ideal conclusion

For whatsoever reason, even with the downsides it is very ideal to outweighs the bad, after all it is more than capable of a human being because of the amount of data it can process within the necessary speed.

AI can do it regardless of taking breaks.

But what’s necessary to understand is that it can never disregard the need for the human element which will always remain integral to the cyber world.

The technology is needed but on a human watch and not without it this will also help in reducing risks of AI.
