“The prettiest smiles hide deepest secrets
The prettiest eyes have cried a lot
and Maybe the warm heart is now cold to touch.”
Today the world is living in the 21st century, a century where advancements are far more rapid ever thought. Every field is expanding, every mind is evolving. There is reckless growth, but in this scenario, one’s morals are dilapidated.
India is always seen as a male dominating society, but today girls are doing all ventures to break this taboo. This is a fight they always admired to conquer. Some even succeeded but the success rate is far below than expected. Some won the fight others are battling against it and some are dragged down by the vicious circle of society.
Everybody is messed up, on one side they talk about women empowerment and on the other side they re the ones’ who can’t withstand her freedom. These are those fickle- minded people those think women still to be treated as the dust under his feet.
Some have crossed the skies, but some are forced to stay within the four walls. She stays there because she is teased, she is molested, she is raped and at the end, she is blamed.
Blamed for what???
BEING GIRL…
She carves for a better future but when she steps out, people can’t withstand her and then she faces eve-teasing. Her character is judged on her clothes, not for her behavior. She is accused of wearing short and small clothes but people aren’t ashamed of that small thinking. She is assumed to be the elegant princess in the world which treats her like a maid.
Even in present milieu, there are several places not only in India where a girl birth isn’t favored. But today, “DAUGHTER ISN’T EQUAL TO TENSION, SHE IS EQUALS TO TEN SONS.”
Yet for parents, it’s hard to let their child die but society has even made it possible. And what a society comprises??
IT’S PEOPLE LIKE US!!!
We say that the world needs the change but we need to be the change the world wants. One can’t force someone to respect other’s but it needs to be the inherent ability if one wants to be respected back.
HOW CAN SOMEONE HOPE A BETTER FUTURE BY KILLING PRESENT ??
For instance, let’s assume female foeticide isn’t practiced anymore. But what you think will society let her thrive??
Will she be able to walk fearlessly on roads??
We teach our girls to be modest with everyone, but the world is exploiting her; taking her morals and etiquettes her weakness, she is suppressed everywhere. But if girls can be taught to be modest from a very young age, boys could also be taught to respect girls.
Today gender sensitization needs to be made mandatory. It all can happen only if the mindset of people changes. AND CHANGES AREN’T SUDDEN.
So at present one can only expect a better society, not a changed society.
It’s high time when awareness about this topic needs to spread. Daily millions of dreams are shattering just because of words,” log kya khaenge?”
At this point, I don’t say that only she should be respected and he should be neglected. We want a balanced society. One can’t change the mindset of elders’ now, but the budding minds could be shaped for a better future.
We don’t want a society where people are forced to fight for their denied rights; we want a society where everybody lives in peace and harmony.
Even Guru Nanak Dev Ji has said, “Why to call her unfortunate, who has given birth to Kings?”
