How to be safe from criminals of social media?
Internet is safe or not is a question whose answer will differ , depending upon how you use it. There are instances in which a person themselves does not take the adequate precautions ,thus they end up becoming the victim of cyber crimes. Due to the massive popularity of internet ,almost everybody uses it ,even the criminals ,because for the criminals internet is a platform where they can easily find their prey.
Cyber crimes are of which nature ,there are monetary cyber crimes in which the victim gets duped of several rupees within minutes , then there are crimes in which the sentiments of the victim are hurt due to online defamatory statements by the offenders ,then there are crimes in which the privacy of the victims is being compromised .All in all the scope of cyber crimes is widening along with the enhancement in technology.
As long as there is any development in the internet the cyber criminals will keep on finding ways to take advantage of the innocent people. In all these scenarios of cyber crimes one thing that will be beneficial for all of us would be the effective cyber crimes laws. Laws are there in our constitution but still the speedy redressal of grievances of the victims are not there.
There are several instances of cyber crimes not being reported by the victim to the police for example online bullying etc ,then there are scenarios in which the victim is not aware of the rights and safeguards which the laws provide , thus the cyber crimes are not addressed. What our society needs is awareness about cyber crimes and this can be done by various campaigns and with the aid of several cyber welfare society then only the internet will truly serve it’ s main purpose for which it was built ,which was to be of benefit to the society ,otherwise the dilemma whether internet is a safe place or not will keep on bugging our mind .

Internet has made our lives a lot easier, we get all the information in fraction of a second, we can connect to our friends and family with realtime calls.
But this comes with a risk of cyber crimes. Being cautious and aware about such things is important.
