This is the first side of coin which shows it is developing state having population of 6.89cr(2012) but the reality is that Rajasthan is lacking behind in many other aspects like literacy rate, sex ratio etc. The data will definitely startle you that the state with such a huge population having literacy rate of 66.1% i.e. on 33 rank out of 35 states and union territories , having sex ration below than average of 940 i.e. 928 girls on 1000 boys and according to the data at present 24.8% population is living below poverty line which is a vulnerable conditions.
The condition in aspect of cyber crime in Rajasthan is also same, the state is holding 3rd rank. Cyber crimes have risen by 36.2% over the last three years in Rajasthan and the state is right up there among the top three in the category.
According to the latest figures, released by the National Crime Records Bureau there is a huge increase in cyber crimes in Rajasthan compared to 2014. Maharashtra had the maximum number of cyber crime cases in the country, reporting 2,195 cases in 2015.
This was followed by Karnataka with 1447 cases, Rajasthan 949. In 2014, Rajasthan had reported 697 cyber crimes, which rose to 949 in 2015 this shows that the IT revolution came bit late in Rajasthan but now as it hit the shores, it did not take longer time to cause the huge damages.
This is a new serious of concern growing rapidly and the illiteracy is playing a grate role behind this. As per the data of previous years, out of the population of 6.89cr, 39% population is illiterate. These type of people are easy target for these digital vampires because they don’t have any knowledge regarding the cyber crimes which is being practiced in world. So the only getaway is knowledge and awareness otherwise the day is not too far when Rajasthan will be standing on top position in number of cyber crime cases.
