With the advancement in the technology, everything is easily accessible to people, but the dependence on internet has made a way for criminals to commit Crime. Cyber Crime is a crime which is committed on internet by using computer as a tool or target. Nowadays, every country and state is trying to curb the Cyber Crime to keep the users safe as people are increasingly depending on the internet to do anything; it can be socializing, shopping, selling, transactions, etc.
Gujarat is known as one of the safest state to live in India and it is because of the better execution and efforts of government and its citizen. To keep the cities safe, it is crucial for everyone to be aware and informed about the crime. Gujarat has crime rates relatively lower than other states like Maharashtra, Delhi, and Karnataka but it doesn’t mean that there is no Crime in Gujarat. Cyber Crime is also making a way by online frauds, hacking, and cyber stalking, etc in Gujarat. Recently Gujarat Government had a DGP crime conference in Ahmadabad whose main agenda on second day of meeting was to discuss about the ways to tackle Cyber Crime in the state. DGP Shivanand Jha allocated 105 Police Officials to form Cyber Cells in nine ranges and Cyber Police Stations in all the cities of Gujarat to curb the increasing Cyber Crime at its first stage itself.
So, Soon Gujarat will have its Cyber Police Stations in all the cities. Improvements can be made by:
• Constant support to the Police from every person living in Gujarat.
• Awareness programmes and campaigns can be conducted by NGOs to support the initiative and create awareness among people.
• Awareness among people about the Cyber Crime and its punishment is very crucial.
• Government can conduct surveys to know the exact number of Cyber Crime and especially Cyber Frauds that were committed and how they were committed.
• Development of Cyber Crime resistant technology.
