With the increasing cybercrime, cyber criminals have found a new way of fraud in which after they threaten the senior citizen that their mobile number would be switched off,at that crucial time frame the criminals extract important details from the senior citizens saying that they need the KYC or the bank account information in the name of updating confidential information like Aadhar card number ATM Card number, CVVnumber, date of birth etc, is being asked, as well as remote access apps like Quick Support, Team viewer, Any Desk etc., confidential information is obtained from senior citizens by downloading them on their mobiles and immediately the criminals deposit the available capital in the bank account that is transferred to the fraud’s account.
*To avoid this type of crime, keep the following things in mind*-
1. Do not Share confidential information such as Aadhar number, date of birth,
bank registered number, ATM card number, etc., with any unknown person.
2. Do not send OTP (One time password) to any person.
3. Remote access apps like Quick Support, Team viewer,any desk etc do not
download the app at the request of any unknown person.
4. Do not open the link or do not scan the QR code, do not send the scanning if the unknown person asks for the QR code that comes on the phone to receive money from Paytm etc.
Be alert and be careful, Banks and telecom companies do not receive any confidential information from the phone for updating mobile KYC.
