Cyber attack using Fruad Messages
Now Days hacker do many type of ideology to cheat online people. One of the most common example is sending message that ” pay your bill otherwise your light connection will disconnect.To avoid this situation pay the bill from following link.”
This type msg most widely used to fraud the people from online mode. This type of attack hide the identity of the attacker from the people. To find this type fruader are some difficult and time consuming. Many of the time their srever are outside the contry which makes difficult catch the attacker and also get less chance to get refund.
How this type of attacker do:-
1st they collect the information about person who get attacked like consumer no. of light bill, their online transjation. Then create fake serve of payment of elcrticty bill, after this process they generate fraud message with that fake server link. Then send fraud message of you are not payed your electricity bill. They send this type of message from messaging app like messanger , whatsapp and normal SMS and many more. To ensure that you get frauded they call that person and told like that “I am from elcrticity board department, we are seen that you not paid your monthly bill. We forwaded you message pay the bill using that link otherwise your light connection will cut down.” They create panic situation for that person. In this situation that person pays the bill and get frauded.
How To save us this type of Fruad attck:-
1st check your bill amount on that maessage and your printout bill paper which given by their respective elcrticity board. Then check link was genuine or not like check link extension are gov.in, org.in are genuine link of government and any organisation. Many of type the platform from where this the fraud message you get they give the notification or alert message like this is fraud message, Spam message and also share the spam report/comment which given by people also give extra option of report or block this type of message. Afer opening this link goggle also show warning like you may get frauded. Then we don’t have to do payment. Also online platform like Gpay, Paytm and phonepe give warning also for many times. Many times this apps cancel payment.
When you have to pay bill online then check the site. Do online payment on trusteted app like Gpay, Paytm Which provide the online electricity bill payment service. This type of service is secure and safe. Otherwise pay bill in Offline mode if you don’t have any idea about online transjaction.
Many of times the amount get people get fruaded is small like between 500 to 5000 people think that Its small amount ins such cases many people don’t do complaint. Which encourages the mindset of attacker and do many fruad. So please file complaint about any online fruad.
