One-sided love leaves a 18-year-old boy into jail for misusing social media

Social media is proving hazardous for some and there are many people who are misusing it. A very disgusting incidence took place in Ujjain where a young boy troubled a girl by creating her fake Facebook Id. Cyber Cell, Ujjain soon arrested that 18-year-old boy for misusing the social media.
The criminal used to trouble the complainant’s sister by posting several photos by the girl’s name through that Facebook Id. He had planned this conspiracy as he one-sidedly loved the complainant’s sister. He uploaded the photos on the social media site and tried to malign her image due do ignorance faced by this love.
In the current measures taken by DGP Purushottam Sharma and ADGP Rajesh Gupta, Officer Jitendra Singh, Superintendent, Cyber Cell stated that, they received a complaint from Neha who lived at Ujjain claiming that a fake Facebook account of her sister was created and her photos were uploaded through it.
According to the gathered digital information and data which came from Facebook, Rohan Mali is the name of accused person. His age is 18 years old and father’s name is Sitaram Mali. During the interrogation session, Rohan confessed that he was madly in love with the complainant’s sister but, it was one-sided love. Hence due to the rejection faced by this love, he created a fake FB Id and started to post the girl’s photos on it. A feeling of hatred and family issues were the main reasons for taking this step.
He committed this crime with a motive to distort her image in the society but all his motives were crushed by the Cyber police. The criminal attempted to break the SIM card and throw it away due to the fear of getting caught by the police. But this attempt was also went unsuccessful and the police charged him with Section 201 of the IPC for destroying the evidence.
Cyber police including Narendra Gome, Gopal Ajnar, Kamlakar Upadhyay, Sunil Pawar, Mahavir Singh and Trupti Lodhi contributed majorly in this issue. Thus, the Cyber Cell suggested to behave like responsible citizens. They advised that one should not upload photos or videos of any stranger on Facebook. They also instructed that it is a crime to create a fake Facebook Id and one should refrain from this harmful practice.
Social media is a platform where people can interact, express their opinions and share ideas. It isnt meant for being misused by trying to distort or malign another’s image, stalk someone or harass them. We maybe getting “smarter” from the information we get on social media, but we seriously need some wisdom to use it.
This is the common problem faced by all the women in our society.
