AHMEDABAD: WOMAN CHEATED OF Rs. 25,000 BY CYBER FRAUDS

Our Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that to make our country digital and make payments with online mode. Therefore, from that time the online transactions are increasing day by day, so are the cyber fraud cases in which people are targeted by the cyber thugs sitting in any part of the country.
In one such case registered in Bapunagar police station on Sunday, a 27- year old woman Himani Patel was cheated of Rs. 25,000 on the pretext of allotting her a credit card. Patel who lives on Hirawadi road in Bapunagar with her aunty and husband Laukik Patel and works in Krishbhavan in Gandhinagar as a technical assistant has mentioned in the FIR that on Friday while she was in the office, she received a call at around 1:45pm from lady who identified herself as Sheetal Sharma from a private bank’s head office in which the victim has her account. But further the caller has clarified that the credit card has been issued on the victim’s name. However, the victim declined later on and said she doesn’t want any credit card. The further the caller said that if she doesn’t want any credit card then she has to verify her debit card. The caller has asked all the information abut the card CVV and the OTP that the woman has received and she has given all.
Thereafter, Rs.25,000 were debited from her account in three four transactions said by the police. The complainant then dialed 100 and lodged an application online in the cyber police station. From there she got a ticket number based on which she lodged a complaint at Bapunagar police station on Sunday.
