Amidst the COVID-19 situation, across the country, cyber crimes cops are facing a tough time nabbing offender, with most of the accused based in Delhi, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and West Bengal. This has impacted the percentage of the cases detected by the teams during the lockdown.
More than 300 cases have been registered till now from across the country. Teams for the investigation has been send to the different places to investigate about that case and each team takes at least 2 to 3 cases in their hands. But what becomes here a big issue is this pandemic. Therefore, it becomes to tough to travel and have a proper investigation about that case. As investigating team is able to solve 60% of the case through their investigation but because of this travel issue they are not able to do so that’s why the cases are on hold.
Last year, nearly 1,200 cases were reported, while nearly 40% of the cases were detected and mostly the cases were from Cyber Bullying and Cyber Stalking. However, most of the cyber stalking cases are done from the same state and by their known ones. Further, the cyber crimes are done with the financial frauds like KYC fraud, most accused are traced from Rajasthan, Jharkhand, West Bengal etc. said by the police source and the victim has loosed their amount ranging Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 5,00000.
So, as it is becoming a big concern for the society that they have to be aware about all these things like at what time what they have to do and the precautions they have to take, otherwise many of them will fall under these types of traps and the police even try their best to save you from all these problems but due to pandemic it’s becoming tough for them to have a proper investigation. For e.g. “when a person sees an iPhone selling for Rs. 18,000, they fall under the trap and send the money, thinking it is good offer and many times you get a offer after shopping that you have won SUV or any of the branded things which anyone feels to have and say you to enter your bank details but one should not fall under the trap. Always take the precautions and if believing on any of the things then do it with an open mind otherwise you have to pay a high cost for this. During this lockdown cases are increasing and many traps are there so taking precautions by yourself and get yourself aware from every types of cyber- crimes can keep you safe. By this Police will also get help.
